Pack 3 in Gunter, Texas believes that a boy can be involved in both Cub Scouts and sporting activities throughout the school year.  Our pack and den leaders are very flexible in scheduling meetings and events around school and sports events.  We firmly believe in putting the "outing" in Scouting and in the future, will be participating in other outdoor activities such as overnight campouts, fishing derbies, laser tag, BB gun and archery shooting at Cub Scout camp.  If you are interested in learning more about Pack 3 in Gunter, Texas, please contact us.

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

Kyle McAllister of Boy Scout Troop 3 (Texoma Valley District) which is based in is currently a candidate for the rank of Eagle, the highest level that can be achieved in Boy Scouts.

Kyle’s project was to do seating and an awning at the GYA ball fields. That translated into researching the internet for heavy duty picnic table designs and drawing up plans to add an awning to an existing structure. Kyle solicited funds from several local businesses, purchased the raw materials and pre-cut the lumber for the tables (basically making “picnic table kits”).

He then asked the scouts of Troop 3 to meet him at the ball park in March and construction began! By the end, the GYA ball fields had two new super heavy duty picnic tables and a 5 ft. awning cov-ering the front of the concession stand.
